Despegar appoints new Country Manager for Mexico

As part of Despegar's strategy of consolidation and leadership in Mexico and Latin America, Alejandro Calligaris is appointed as the new Country Manager of the Despegar Group in Mexico, which encompasses the Despegar Mexico and Best Day operations.

With 10 years of experience in Best Day, Calligaris in its new position will have the challenge of reaffirming the consolidation of Despegar and Best Day in Mexico, the most relevant market for the Company, and continuing to promote the reactivation of the tourism industry, after the tough months of the pandemic.

Prior to this appointment, Alejandro Calligaris served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Best Day Travel Group. He began his professional career at Best Day in 2010 as Chief Commercial Officer of HotelDO, the corporate's B2B business line, and later held the position of Managing Director of HotelDO and BDTravel Solution. He is a specialist in technological and commercial innovation, lines focused on providing strategic services for his clients and business partners.

For his part, thanks to his successful performance, Ezequiel Rubin, who held the position of Country Manager at Despegar México since 2019, assumes the position of Head of the B2C Business at Best Day and Despegar in Mexico, one of the strategic areas in which the Company is committed to strengthening and consolidating in Mexico.
