During the second semester of 2023, El Salvador will make available all the tools to enhance the Multi-destination, promoting the competitiveness of the region and the attractiveness of the complementary destinations of Central America and the Dominican Republic to attract international travelers, especially those from European, North American and intra-regional markets.

In this sense, the Minister of Tourism of El Salvador, as President Pro Tempore, Ms. Morena Valdez indicated that "The Government of President Nayib Bukele is committed to working in an articulated manner with the countries of the region to strengthen the multi-destination and to be a competitive bloc in terms of tourism, applying innovation, promotion and new ties with the private sector”. 

For her part, the Vice Minister of Tourism and Relations with the Diaspora of Belize, Ms. Nicole Solano, expressed that "The Presidency of Belize during the Pro Tempore Presidency of the Central American Tourism Council and the CATA Board of Directors was a testimony of the power of unity, collaboration and visionary leadership. We recognize that our region's potential can only be unlocked through collective action, shared goals, and a commitment to sustainability. As I pass the torch to El Salvador as the next steward of this great responsibility, I am confident that our collective efforts will continue to pave the way for a vibrant, inclusive and prosperous tourism sector in Central America."
Among the fundamental pillars for the management of El Salvador at the head of CATA, the continuity of the development of joint communication and marketing strategies stands out, as well as the promotion of relations with airlines, with the purpose of strengthening the connectivity of the region. . In addition, it will strengthen the Agency's management by promoting collaborative work for sustainable growth and shared benefits.

On the other hand, El Salvador will strategically bet on strengthening the business fabric that integrates the tourism value chain. In this line, it will work hand in hand with the private sector to consolidate the insertion of MSMEs in the new dynamics of world tourism, through the organization of the Central America Travel Market (CATM) to be held in April 2024 in El Salvador. , an activity that has not been carried out since 2019. “
