Atrio Hotel Management celebrates 35 years of growth and expansion

Atrio Hotel Management's first half gross revenue in 2022 was 52 million dollars, in 2023 it had an increase of 43%, reaching 74 million dollars

On the morning of August 1st, in São Paulo, Atrio Hotel Management gathered its team: Paulo Mélega, VP of Operations, César Nunes, VP of marketing and sales, and Beto Caputo, CEO of the company, at a press conference to present the advances by Atrio Hotel Management, which this year celebrates its 35th anniversary in the Brazilian market.
The hotel manager owns hotels in the states of Roraima, Pará, Tocantins, Ceará, Bahia, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, accounting for brands such as: Ibis , Ibis Styles, Ibis Budget, Mercure, Novotel and Grand Mercure. Atrio Hotéis also owns two hotels with independent flags.
The hotel manager was born in the south of Brazil and has established itself well in the southeast, has an important presence in the north, and intends to advance in the capitals of the northeast and midwest, the debut will be with the Ibis Styles Goiânia Estação in the capital of the state of Goiás .
The hotel that wants to join Atrio needs to have at least 200 rooms.

The expansion
Atrio Hotel Management's first half gross revenue in 2022 was 52 million dollars, in 2023 it had an increase of 43%, reaching 74 million dollars.
Before the pandemic, Atrio had 50 hotels, and today there are 75, intending to reach in 2027 the mark of 150 hotels in Brazil, totaling 11 thousand rooms.
César Nunes, VP of marketing and sales, presented during the press conference the company's budget for 2023, which is 173 million dollars, an increase of 39% compared to 2022, the gross operating result is 66 million dollars and a growth of 60% compared to the previous year, Nunes concluded that the operating margin is 36%, with growth of 15%.
Beto Caputo, CEO, spoke about the launch scheduled for 2024 of the Ibis Budget Guarulhos, with 270 rooms, located in front of GRU Airport - São Paulo International Airport. He believes that this model of hotels in airports and capitals is a niche market for the hotel industry, as it caters well for flight cancellations, people from the countryside who travel to the capital to travel on early morning or early morning flights, and between these and other passenger needs.

Technology
Beto Caputo, CEO of Atrio explained that the investment in technology is a differential and a fundamental delivery for the service that hotels aim for – “One of the pillars of change, is 100% Could, we are going to be the first hotel chain in the world , today we have an exclusive board for technology”, explained Caputo.

Gastronomy
Paulo Mélega, VP of Operations, said that Atrio has invested in structuring the gastronomy of the hotels with hamburgers, pizzerias, restaurants such as the Peruvian QCeviche inside the Novotel Curitiba Batel and KAIS Ø Itajaí at the Mercure Itajaí Navegantes, and have exclusive social networks for the restaurants. The idea is that people who live in the city also frequent the hotel restaurants. Mélenga understands the relevance of gastronomy, since it is responsible for 25% of hotel revenues.
The company is also careful to avoid food waste, replenishing the buffet only when the food runs out completely, and has been reusing peelings.
Among other programs there is the Atrio Sustentabilidade referring to plastic free, implemented in all hotels, and in some the neutral carbon.

People and quality management
The Be Atrio, Bem-estar é Performance program, which aims to promote the well-being of the teams, creating a healthy environment for the development of work, thus providing each employee with 2 therapy sessions per month , have campaigns to take care of the physical, mental and financial health of employees. There is also space for convenience, they provide recognition and encourage dialogue. The UAU Quality Program, for example, encourages focus, rewards, evolution and annual investment. 
The company also offers free English classes.
Paulo Mélega explained that there is a high turnover in the hotel business and it is necessary to have programs for the 2,700 employees of Atrio Hotel Management to want to stay. “Accommodation rates are below those practiced in 2019, but we realized that our salaries were below the market and we made this correction”, he explained.

Hotel structure
US$1.4 million was invested in deploying Opera Cloud, infrastructure, wi-fi, its own IT team, Power BI/CRM, Hosp Tech (innovation center).
The investment in improving the hotels and operational structure was 2 million and 59 thousand dollars (113% compared to 2022), the forecast for future investments is approximately 15 million dollars.
Paulo Mélega, recalled the long relationship with investors over these 35 years, he has already been with the company for 8 years, as for CEO Beto Caputo, the secret of Atrio's success is the trust of investors and employees in management, as he believes in importance of not just thinking about profits - “We have a reputation for integrity and seriousness,” concluded Caputo.
