Its beaches have varied waves that are perfect for beginners and specialized surfers. One of the best known is the longest left wave in the world in Puerto Chicama or Malabrigo, in the province of Ascope.

The Huanchaco resort, in Trujillo, is the favorite place for practitioners of water sports. In addition to surfing, tourists will be able to live the experience of riding aboard the caballito de totora, a traditional boat built from the leaves and stems of the totora (reed).
