The City of Buenos Aires exceeded 100 thousand visitors

According to projections from the Entur Tourism Observatory, 20.7 billion pesos would have entered the City during the first long weekend of the year

The Tourism Entity of the City of Buenos Aires indicated that, during the extra-long Carnival weekend, which extended from Saturday, February 10 to Tuesday, February 14, a total of 106,533 national and international visitors arrived in the national capital. In addition, it is estimated that the average hotel occupancy was 67% and the economic impact was 20.7 billion pesos.

In this way, according to projections made by the Entur Tourism Observatory, in 11 of the last 12 long weekends more than 100,000 national and international visitors entered the City.

“The City is a consolidated destination that tourists from all over the world want to know and rediscover, that is why our commitment as management is to stay at the forefront, updating the tourist offer with new and better proposals for visitors and neighbors,” said Valentín. Díaz Gilligan, president of the Tourism Entity of the City of Buenos Aires.

In that sense, the City's tourist offer during the extra-long Carnival weekend consisted of cultural and gastronomic activities designed for the whole family, framed in the Summer in Buenos Aires program. Among the most notable were the Museum of Imagination and Play (MIJU), the first recreational space designed and designed for the three segments of childhood. Located in Costanera Sur; free cultural festivals in different parts of the City; and BOCHA, a gastronomic tour located in the Argentine Polo Field with options of Asian, Italian, Armenian and Texan cuisine, among many others.

In addition, the traditional Tourism in Neighborhoods program, which invites you to learn about the identity of the emerging areas of the City based on its gastronomy, its urban art, its shops and much more. Among the main circuits are La Boca, Barrio Coreano, Puerto Madero, Recoleta, Belgrano, Retiro, Chacarita, Barracas, Villa Crespo, Mataderos, San Nicolás, Colegiales and Villa Devoto.
