Travel during Holy Week: Puerto Montt, Copiapó and Calama will be some of the favorite destinations

Regarding international destinations, Lima and Buenos Aires will be the preferred ones for passengers who will travel during this date

A new Easter celebration is approaching and many are already making plans to travel during those dates, either inside or outside of Chile given the holiday on Friday, March 29. According to SKY Airline projections, between Thursday, March 28 and Sunday, March 31, more than 43 thousand passengers will travel nationally and around 17 thousand on direct routes that connect Santiago with abroad.

National destinations such as Puerto Montt, Copiapó and Calama will be some of the favorites of travelers for these dates and, with respect to international destinations, a large attendance of travelers to Lima and Buenos Aires is expected.

“Without a doubt, Easter has always been a time of rest for travelers and this year will be no exception. According to our projections, between Thursday and Sunday alone we will transport around 60 thousand travelers, between our national and international routes,” commented Jaime Fernández, sales manager of SKY Airline.

In terms of projections and breaking down the data provided by the airline, more than 6,000 people are expected to travel between Puerto Montt and Santiago and another 5,000 will travel between Puerto Montt and Balmaceda, Concepción, Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales. Likewise, more than 3,700 people between Copiapó and Santiago, and more than 3,300 people between the capital and Calama. Other national destinations with high demand will be Iquique, Antofagasta and Concepción with more than 3,000 estimated travelers.

For its part, on international flights SKY Airline expects a projection of more than 4,800 people to Lima and more than 3,800 people to Buenos Aires.
