The most important event in the entertainment and attractions industry in Latin America and the Caribbean, the IAAPA Summit 2024 + Latin American Amusement Expo, is taking place for the first time in Colombia, and Medellín is the city that brings together owners, CEOs and senior managers of the parks, attractions and companies in the region in an exclusive environment in which they can learn, exchange experiences and generate business opportunities.

There are more than 500 participants and 100 exhibitors gathered on April 15 and 16 in Plaza Mayor in educational sessions led by recognized global industry experts, connecting with the most influential decision makers and leaders while participants can discover new products at the fair. largest commercial in the region.

Among the attending segments related to the parks and attractions industry, thematic and water parks, compensation funds, family entertainment centers, agroparks, ecoparks, manufacturers, suppliers, among others, stand out.

This was the recruitment process for this event

Since 2019, after considering the city's capabilities and its vocation for the meetings industry, the Municipal Administration implemented a thorough research process with the aim of exploring possible articulations to present the best application and bring this event to the city. Local capacities, strategic allies, venues and ideal experiences to host it were analyzed and together with the Bureau of Medellín and Antioquia they carried out inspection visits touring Plaza Mayor and some potential hotels to receive the projected attendees, coming from all over the world. .

Likewise, to make this event a reality, the Municipal Administration also joined forces with ACOLAP (Colombian Association of Attractions and Amusement Parks) and Comfenalco, to evaluate unconventional spaces and other possible partners that could support the event, such as Parque Explora , Happy City and the Hacienda Nápoles Theme Park. Thanks to this synergy, a perfect articulation was achieved to offer an experience completely focused on the event, making the most of the various amusement parks, leisure and entertainment areas that the city offers.

In addition, it should be noted that this event will have a legacy activity thanks to the collaboration with the Pasión y Corazón Cultural Corporation. This non-profit organization will be in charge of singing the institutional anthems to start the event. This Corporation aims to create, develop and strengthen music schools and multi-ethnic philharmonic orchestras as a tool for social and cultural transformation.

Some objectives of the meeting

Among the main objectives are to provide entrepreneurs, owners, operations directors, human resources directors and purchasing directors with the opportunity to train, acquire knowledge about trends, increase the visibility of their company, expand their presence and establish strategic connections. and invaluable in the entertainment industry, healthy recreation and with key actors from Latin America; in addition to providing a conducive environment so that attendees can explore new business opportunities and establish solid business relationships with service and product providers in this sector; and encourage growth and innovation in the industry, promoting collaboration and the exchange of ideas between participants, thus contributing to the development and strengthening of their companies.
