In the first two months of the year, the arrival of passengers on international flights to Mexico by region registered 5 million 108 thousand 705 passengers, of which 79% came from the North America Region.
According to information from the Official Airline Guide (OAG), for 2024, Mexico has a schedule of 34 million 845 thousand 456 seats to Mexico from different regions of the world, which represents 1.9% more than what was scheduled in 2023.
It was specified that, from January to December 2024, the offer of seats from the North America Region to Mexico is 27 million 270 thousand 511 seats, which represents 78.3% of the total.
From the Caribbean, Central and South America region there are 4 million 360 thousand 418 seats scheduled to Mexico, this is 12.5% of the total; followed by the Europe region with 3 million 21 thousand 502 seats, which means 8.7%; as well as 193 thousand 25 scheduled seats from Asia and Oceania, with a participation of 0.6%.
By 2024, the airlines with the largest share of scheduled seats in international operations to Mexico are: American Airlines with 15.2% of the total and Aeroméxico with 14.4%, which together add up to 10 million 331 thousand seats.
The airports with the highest number of seats scheduled with international service to Mexico during 2024 are: Cancún, AICM and Guadalajara, adding 24 million 489 thousand seats, equivalent to 70.3% of the total.
The main international routes to Mexico for 2024 with the highest number of scheduled seats are: Toronto-Cancún with 671,321 seats, Dallas-Cancún with 665,066 seats and Madrid-AICM with 641,886 seats.
