For the first time, Carnival Cruise Line's new cruise ship Carnival Firenze arrived in Puerto Vallarta on April 28 as part of its inaugural voyage from the port of Long Beach, California, where it set sail on April 25.

On its maiden voyage, Firenze offered a seven-night cruise to the Mexican Riviera. The itinerary included three full days at sea, plus visits to Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta, as well as Catalina Island.

Previously operated by Costa Cruises, this Vista-class ship joins Carnival Cruise Line's new Carnival Fun Italian Style concept. The product combines the company's traditional locations, service and experiences with an Italian ambience and vibe.

With a design inspired by the Italian city of Florence, the 4,232-guest ship offers public areas and themed staterooms. One of the main dining rooms is named after Michelangelo, the Renaissance sculptor and painter born in that city.

Luis Villaseñor, director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust, highlighted: “our destination has established itself as one of the most attractive points for cruises in the Mexican Pacific; Proof of this is the arrival of this new ship that will help increase the excellent figures achieved during the first quarter of the year, where we received more than 177 thousand passengers through that route."

During this month, the Puerto Vallarta Maritime Terminal received 23 international cruise ships, among which two triple arrivals were recorded, one on April 16 and another on April 19.
