The Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA) supports this important event, reaffirming its commitment to regional coordination and the joint promotion of Central America and the Dominican Republic as a competitive, sustainable, and innovative multi-destination.
The Dominican Republic currently holds the Presidency of the Commission, where it promotes an agenda aimed at transforming tourism in the Americas. Within this framework, it is leading the organization of the first Africa-Americas Bi-regional Summit on Tourism, a historic meeting that seeks to strengthen intercontinental ties and foster new opportunities for South-South cooperation.
As a prelude to the official meeting, the regional seminar "Artificial Intelligence Applied to Tourism" was held on July 31. This was a space for reflection and exchange of experiences on the use of emerging technologies to boost the sector's competitiveness, improve the visitor experience, and optimize decision-making in public policy.
The participation of Central American countries in this international forum demonstrates the region's commitment to building a more resilient, inclusive, and innovative tourism industry, capable of adapting to new global dynamics and contributing to the sustainable development of their communities.
