Registration is now open for the 7th CLIA Brazil 2025 Forum, which will take place on September 3rd in Mexico City. The event will bring together public authorities, private sector representatives, experts, and executives from leading cruise lines.
Established as the industry's most important forum for dialogue in the country, this year's event focuses on networking and building bridges between professionals from across Brazil. The program was designed to offer opportunities for meetings, exchanges, and connections that would otherwise be difficult to achieve in a business setting: a fertile environment for new ideas to emerge and partnerships to strengthen.
The cruise tourism event brings together public authorities, representatives of the cruise industry (ship owners, operators, ports), specialists, and executives, and aims to promote dialogue, generate connections, and strengthen relationships among industry professionals. The focus will be on the debate about the present and future of the cruise industry in Brazil, including port infrastructure, regulation, competitiveness, job creation, and legal certainty. Officials from CLIA Argentina, where the industry is responsible for 25,000 jobs and generates more than USD $200 million annually, will be present.

Among the Forum's highlights is the participation of Charles "Bud" Darr, President and CEO of CLIA Global. With a strong track record in the international maritime arena, Darr served as Executive Vice President of Maritime Policy and Government Relations for the MSC Group and has worked in the U.S. Coast Guard and Navy. His experience and extensive relationships with shipowners, ports, shipyards, and suppliers will provide valuable input into the discussions on the present and future of the sector.
For his part, Marco Ferraz, president of CLIA Brazil and Argentina, stated:
"Our mission with the Forum is to create an environment conducive to dialogue, debate, and reflection that, on a normal day, would take months to occur. Brasilia is the right place for this. We are working to further elevate the event experience, which has already grown significantly in recent years, following the importance of the cruise industry for Brazil, its economy, and business generation. Intersectoral exchange is fundamental. We need to strengthen the bridges between public and private initiatives so that we can move forward in a sustainable and aligned manner."
