Starting this month, Arajet flights will feature original merengue and bachata pieces, composed exclusively for the airline, with the aim of conveying the soul and joy of the Dominican Republic on every flight. These four previously unreleased compositions—two merengues and two bachatas—are presented in two versions each: an upbeat version and a more apologetic version.
This musical project was made possible thanks to the talent of an exceptional team of 15 musicians, all of national and international renown. Musical direction and production were led by Federico Méndez, a professional guitarist, music producer, arranger, and university professor at institutions such as Berklee College of Music and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. Participating musicians include renowned figures who have worked with Juan Luis Guerra and 440, such as Juan de la Cruz “Chocolate,” Janina Rosado, Naya Macea, Luis Mojica, and Rafael Carrasco.
The violin was recorded in Germany by Dominican José Francisco Pérez, who was part of Adele's 2024 tour, playing 10 concerts. The flutes were played by Fiete Felsch, also from Germany.
In presenting this new experience, the airline's CEO, Víctor Pacheco, said, "Arajet is proud to bring this cultural expression onboard, reaffirming its mission to connect the world with the Dominican essence not only through the destination, but also through the flight experience itself. With Arajet, the music of our homeland also soars high."
Lively versions of merengue and bachata will be available on daytime and evening flights, offering an energetic experience full of Caribbean flavor. The slower versions, in the pambiche and bolero styles, have been designed for evening and early morning flights, offering a serene and warm atmosphere that invites relaxation and enjoyment.
