Belmond makes strategic investments in key destinations
The global collection of exceptional luxury travel adventures and hotels in some of the world's strongest destinations announced novelties in Mexico and Anguilla
Belmond, global collection of exceptional luxury travel adventures and hotels in some of the most stimulating and enriching destinations in the world, announced renovations and openings in several destinations around the world. Among them are the projects in Mexico and Anguilla.
In April 2018, Belmond Casa de Sierra Nevada, in the heart of San Miguel de Allende, re-emerges from a masterful renovation as a timeless Mexican retreat. This ambitious restoration project carefully protects the original characteristics of the original property from the 16th to the 18th century, while finding new and inspiring ways to represent Mexican traditions through detailed work by local and international artists.
The 37 rooms and suites have been recently redesigned and constructed as a work of art; pastel, blue and yellow roses color the furniture, while pieces of Mexican art hang on the walls above the tiles and Talavera, mixed with tapestries and bedding that stand out thanks to the authentic terracotta floors. The wooden furniture has been carved by hand using local techniques. The kumquat-type orange trees have been planted in the pleasant shaded patios permeating indescribable smells and essences.
Opening in November 2018, a new era of beach-chic glamor and relaxed luxury is introduced at Belmond Cap Juluca, Anguilla, located in the British Antilles at Maundays Bay - one of the most tranquil and unspoilt white sand beaches of the Caribbean.
The unique design of the prestigious interior design firm Rottet Studio pays tribute to the surrounding nature and heritage of Anguilla, combining the charms of old world travel with the comforts of the new world, offering a sanctuary for total escapism .
A new infinity pool with an ocean view, 'spa that disappears', rustic beach bar 'The Cap Shack' and elegant restaurants herald a new era for this legendary resort. Colorful botanical gardens and native plants spill from the tropical surroundings and mingle with the new designs and Greco-Roman architecture of the resort.
