Thu April 26, 2018

La Cita is an exclusive U.S. based travel industry event focused on promoting travel products and destinations to the Latin American markets

La Cita de Las Americas has once again raised the bar of refinement. As the show proves elite from any angle, so are the variant buyers, from all over Latin America, representing all types of travel: Group, Leisure, MICE and OTAs. By far the most cost-effective ticket to meet key clients.

La Cita is an exclusive U.S. based travel industry event focused on promoting travel products and destinations to the Latin American markets. La Cita hosts over 150 travel professionals (tour operators, travel agents, media, air carriers, researchers, reps, etc.) from these markets to meet with U.S. tourism providers. The goal of this event is to give suppliers a platform to expose their tourism product and negotiate with Latin American travel buyers that you would not generally see at other events.

This year La Cita will take place at the beautiful Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa in sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida, September 4-6, 2018.

“We are excited to welcome La Cita back to where it all began, Greater Fort Lauderdale,” said Fernando Harb, Vice President of Tourism at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau. “La Cita is the perfect venue to welcome new and existing clients in a business yet social environment. We have great plans to showcase our destination to the Latin and Caribbean markets, and together with JetBlue and Visit Florida, we will make this the most memorable one yet.”

The main sponsors, The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, Visit Florida and JetBlue have joined forces to make sure that top producing travel buyers participate in this event to meet with prominent suppliers in attendance exceeding all expectations.

The Importance of the Latin American Markets:
Latin America is composed of 16 countries throughout the region. Combined population of these nations exceeds 575 million. Although they may share linguist, cultural and religious similarities, each country has their own unique characteristics, preferences and behavior. One hundred million people across Latin America control an estimated 60% of overall buying power. Outbound travel grew in 2017 from all major Latin American countries. * Overall, Latin America accounts for nearly 32 percent of all arrivals to the U.S.**
