Quito closes the first half of the year with an increase of 6.9% of tourists
Between January and June 2018, 335,913 foreign visitors arrived in Quito, which means an increase of 6.9%, compared to the same period last year
This figure is due to new strategies that strengthen the capital as a tourist hub worldwide. Among them, the creation of Quito's digital tourism platform, composed by GOUIO, a mobile application that is the perfect companion for travelers, the tourist website of Quito (www.quito.com.ec) that contains all the information that the tourist must know about the city. In addition, the tourist video "Your Story begins in Quito", which shows the beauty of every corner of the city and has been awarded two international awards. All these strategies were driven by the new city brand, which was inspired by the icons most representative of the identity of Quito.
Another of the strategies adopted for the promotion of the city was the "city placement" for which the tourist and musical video "Mamita" was produced by the CNCO musical group, where Quito is shown in all its splendor.
