Great participation of Costa Rica in WTM London 2018
The Central American country exhibits its main destinations and continues to position itself internationally
Costa Rica participates in the World Travel Market 2018, one of the main tourism events in Europe. The show takes place from November 5 to 7 at the Excel Convention Center in the capital of London. The stand has the presence of María Amalia Revelo Raventós, Minister of Tourism of the Central American destination. The official will hold meetings to update the trade on new products and transport links, sustainability and business trips. Since his appointment in May 2018, he has been promoting tourism with a special focus on culture and gastronomy; and the strengthening of work between the public and private sectors. He has more than 40 years of experience in the tourism sector of the country and is available for interviews during the fair.
It should be noted that the country has made significant progress in the United Kingdom, a market that grew by 2.5% year-on-year in the first half of 2018 with more than 40,000 tourists.)
During the exhibition, the new Costa Rica Convention Center, which opened in April 2018, is also being promoted. It is worth mentioning that the complex is specially designed to position Costa Rica as a leading player in the international events market. It has represented an investment of 35 million dollars and can accommodate more than 6,500 delegates. In addition, it presents a series of sustainable features such as solar panels, water treatment plants, air conditioning with low energy consumption and interior spaces with natural light and native trees.
Another aspect in which the Costa Rica Tourism Board focuses is the cleanliness and sustainability of its beaches. The Blue Flag status was granted to 107 beaches by 2018, three more than last year.
