Avianca announced the implementation of RouteMe, a technological tool designed to facilitate traveler navigation at Bogotá's El Dorado International Airport on international flights. This initiative reinforces the airline's commitment to innovation and continuous improvement of its customer experience.

RouteMe is an intuitive solution that allows passengers to navigate visually and with audible instructions from point A to point B within the airport. Ease of access is one of its main advantages: users only need to scan a QR code to activate the tool, without the need to download an app or register.

"At Avianca, we're constantly looking for ways to make our passengers' journeys simpler and more enjoyable," said Michael Swiatek, Chief Accessibility Officer at Abra. "With RouteMe, we're providing a powerful and accessible tool that empowers our travelers to navigate the airport with confidence and autonomy. It's an important step toward a future where technology and convenience come together to transform the flying experience."

How does RouteMe work?
Scan the QR code: Look for the RouteMe QR codes located at the international check-in counters or in the international arrivals hall, which feature navigation information.

Instant access: When you scan, the tool launches immediately on your mobile device. No prior downloads or registration are required.

Choose your destination: within the airport you wish to arrive at (restroom, a specific boarding gate, information point, airport health, Avianca VIP lounge, connections, or baggage claim).

Personalized guidance: Receive clear visual directions and, if you prefer, audible step-by-step instructions to get to your destination.

Additional Features:
Preview and Share Routes: Send a preview of your route via SMS to anyone you want.
Accessible Routes: The tool offers specific routes for users with limited mobility, including elevator guidance.
Low Vision Assistance: Turn-by-turn audio directions with haptic feedback for users with low vision.

The first pilot phase of RouteMe was implemented at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and is now available at Bogotá's El Dorado International Airport. The airline plans to expand this innovative solution to other key hubs in the future, reaffirming its vision of offering excellent, technologically advanced service to all its passengers.
