Aventúrate RD 2025 opened in Puerto Plata with more than 50 exhibitors and representatives from more than 10 countries
With an opening ceremony held at the Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada, Aventúrate RD 2025 kicked off, a tourism fair that will take place from September 2 to 4 and will bring together more than 50 exhibitors from the Dominican Republic and more than 10 countries, including the United States, Canada, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Germany, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Peru and Ecuador
The event, held at the Emotions by Hodelpa Hotel, reaffirms Puerto Plata's position as a host destination and benchmark for sustainable and adventure tourism, offering a meeting space for national and international professionals with professional events that include business roundtables, specialized conferences, and networking at the Emotions by Hodelpa Hotel.
During the inauguration, representatives from the private and tourism sectors offered remarks. María José Berbel, director of Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada, welcomed everyone on behalf of the host chain and praised the initiative.
For her part, Valeria Bedín, president of the Association of Hotels, Restaurants, and Tourism Companies of the North (ASHONORTE), highlighted how events like these contribute to strengthening the region and developing experiential tourism, showcasing the best of the destination under the spirit of her brand: ¡Siempre Real!
Likewise, Patricia López, manager of Macorix House of Rum, along with Jade Almonte of the Rosaida González Foundation, presented an audiovisual that celebrates Puerto Plata's emblematic brand, Ron Macorix, showing how history, culture, and tradition transform into a unique tourist experience.
The executive president of Aventúrate RD, Jakaira Cid, emphasized the importance of this edition as a relaunch of the fair with a renewed concept, focused on innovation, sustainability, and public-private collaboration. She highlighted Puerto Plata's role as an international benchmark in adventure and sustainable tourism.
“Aventúrate RD 2025 not only celebrates the best of our land, but also projects its essence: its vibrant diversity, its boundless creativity, and its capacity to reinvent itself with purpose, resilience, and vision. Today we open the doors to unique experiences that connect our country to the world,” he said.
Special recognitions
During the ceremony, the careers of leading hoteliers in Puerto Plata, key players in strengthening tourism in the region, were highlighted. These included Roberto Casoni (VH Hotels & Resorts), Luis López (Amhsa Marina Hotels & Resorts), Edmundo Aja (Hodelpa Hotels & Resorts), and Rafael Blanco (Viva Resorts by Wyndham). In addition, special recognitions were given to Ibelca Vásquez, general manager of Caribbean North at Copa Airlines, and to the airline for its strategic vision in air connectivity and its drive to promote the destination's international positioning.
Yira Vermenton, Director of Provincial Tourism Initiatives, spoke on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism, highlighting the importance of institutional support for the development of sustainable and competitive tourism in the region. She emphasized that initiatives such as Aventúrate RD strengthen the tourism value chain, drive innovation, and consolidate the position of Puerto Plata and the Dominican Republic as reliable, high-quality destinations.
Vermenton added: “The Ministry of Tourism's commitment is to ensure that every project, every experience, and every investment contributes to tourism that respects our environment, enhances our culture, and creates real opportunities for local communities.”
