Honduras held a special forum with representatives of the diplomatic corps, media outlets, strategic allies, and public and private sector leaders to discuss the importance of the Central America Travel Market (CATM 2025), which is returning to the country after a 12-year hiatus. The event will take place in San Pedro Sula from October 21 to 23, 2025, and seeks to consolidate its position as the region's leading tourism promotion platform.
During the meeting, authorities and industry representatives highlighted the importance of projecting Honduras and the rest of Central America as an integrated, diverse, and sustainable destination. Secretary of State for Tourism Yadira Gómez, along with Undersecretary of Promotion and Marketing Reizel Vilorio, led the forum, accompanied by regional leaders such as Boris Iraheta, Secretary General of CATA; Efrén Pérez, President of FEDECATUR; and Andrés Ehrler, President of CANATURH.
The panelists agreed that CATM's return represents a unique opportunity to strengthen Honduras's image as a world-class host and position San Pedro Sula as a tourism and business hub, thanks to its air connectivity, modern infrastructure, and proximity to destinations such as Tela, La Ceiba, and the Honduran Caribbean.
Within this framework, the "All You Need Is Central America" campaign was launched, seeking to showcase the region as an attractive and complementary multi-destination. The strategy includes pre-tours in Honduras for wholesalers and international media, followed by post-tours in other Central American countries, with the aim of demonstrating that unique experiences in two or more countries can be combined on a single trip.
The CATM 2025 organization has the support of CATA, IHT, CANATURH, and FEDECATUR, as well as sponsors and strategic allies that make this regional meeting possible, including Avianca, BAC, Televicentro, Tropic Air, TAG Airlines, Publimovil, Xplore Rent a Car, and the San Pedro Sula Convention Bureau.
More than 100 international wholesalers from Europe, North America, Asia, and South America are expected to participate, along with around 150 regional exhibitors and more than 2,000 B2B business meetings, in addition to coverage from more than 50 international media outlets. With these figures, CATM 2025 is emerging as a key meeting point for strengthening tourism marketing and positioning Central America on the global map.
