Santiago, September 9, 2025. El Calafate, the iconic gateway to Patagonia's glaciers, once again has direct connections to the Chilean capital. SKY confirmed the reopening of this route, which will operate twice weekly (Mondays and Fridays) starting December 1. Travelers can now purchase tickets on the airline's website.
“Our commitment is to connect people with unique destinations, and El Calafate is undoubtedly one of them. Given the great interest from our travelers last season, we have reopened this route to offer a direct, nonstop connection to the wonders of Patagonia in just three hours. We want to make this a trip accessible to everyone, so ticket sales will begin with a special fare with a 30% discount,” said Francisca Valenzuela, Sales and Distribution Manager at SKY Airlines.
El Calafate, in the heart of Argentine Patagonia, is a must-see destination for nature and adventure lovers. One of its main attractions is the majestic Perito Moreno Glacier, a World Heritage Site, where visitors can enjoy walks on the ice or witness the thunderous calving of enormous blocks.
This place is also the starting point for exploring Lake Argentino, a vast body of water surrounded by mountains and glaciers, ideal for boat trips that allow you to get up close to the impressive floating icebergs. With its Patagonian charm, the city also offers traditional cuisine, handicrafts, and warm hospitality that attract thousands of tourists each year.
