IHG Hotels & Resorts accelerates its growth in Mexico with the signing of six Voco hotels

Conversions will feature the premium brand in key business and leisure destinations

Mexico City, September 9, 2025. IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world's leading hotel companies, announces the signing of six hotels in Mexico under its premium brand, voco Hotels, in partnership with Alliance Hotels. These conversions will expand IHG's premium offering in the country, providing owners with a distinctive, welcoming, and stylish brand that elevates their properties' value proposition, optimizes their returns, and attracts new guests.


The hotels will open in 2027 in strategic locations within some of Mexico's key markets, including Cancún, Guadalajara, Ciudad Juárez, San Luis Potosí, Torreón, and Nuevo Laredo. These properties will add 848 rooms to the voco brand's portfolio in the country, which currently has four hotels in operation and five under development. Globally, voco Hotels maintains a solid expansion plan with 102 properties under development, underscoring its growth strategy and the strong demand for conversions.


Significant renovations at each property will incorporate the hallmarks of IHG's voco hotels: vibrant social spaces, an arrival experience based on warm and friendly service, and thoughtful touches to make guests feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.

The next six Voco hotels in Mexico will be:
 

  • voco Guadalajara Expo Area – Facing Expo Guadalajara and steps from restaurants, shopping centers, and entertainment, this 163-room hotel is geared toward those traveling to meetings, conferences, and events. It will feature meeting rooms, a business center, and a gastronomy that combines regional and international cuisine. 
     
  • voco Cancún – With 160 rooms overlooking the lagoon, flexible meeting spaces, and wellness areas, this will be an option within the hotel zone focused on business travelers. It will offer easy access to the airport, government districts, and the city center.
  • voco Nuevo Laredo – Located near the international bridge to Laredo, Texas, and major ports, this 120-room hotel welcomes both business and leisure travelers. Its facilities are designed for guests involved in logistics, transportation, manufacturing, trade, and cross-border activities.
     
  • Voco Torreón – Located in the Comarca Lagunera region, it will primarily serve the automotive, agro-industrial, and textile sectors. It will offer 124 rooms equipped with functional workspaces, multiple meeting rooms, a full-service restaurant, and bar. 
     
  • voco San Luis Potosí – Located in the heart of one of the main automotive manufacturing areas, this 135-room property will enjoy a central location and is especially attractive to international corporate travelers thanks to its proximity to the region's main industrial parks and shopping centers.
     
  • voco Ciudad Juárez – This 146-room hotel is located in a strategic binational and industrial corridor, just steps from the U.S. Consulate. Its business-focused amenities make it the ideal choice for guests in the manufacturing, logistics, and government sectors.
     

In the first half of 2025, conversions accounted for 57% of IHG's global room openings, cementing their position as a growth driver for the company and a winning proposition for owners.
