During the 2025 Global Meaningful Travel Summit, Patom Organic Living stood out as an example of sustainable tourism. The international meeting, hosted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in partnership with the North American organization Tourism Cares, brings together leaders, experts, and communities on an agenda that connects sustainability, culture, and inclusion to tourism practices.

Patom Organic Living's first location, located in Bangkok's trendy Thonglor neighborhood, combines a tranquil, leafy setting with immersive sustainability experiences, offering visitors a café and a shop with award-winning design that integrates glass and reclaimed wood. In addition to the urban location, Patom Organic Living has a second location in Suan Sampran, Nakhon Pathom province, approximately 40 km west of Bangkok. This location functions as a farm and factory, offering a rural and educational experience about organic production, allowing visitors to see the process from planting to finished products.

Anak Navaraj, director of Patom Organic Living, explains: “Our focus is to showcase the biorealism of sustainable tourism, where the visitor experience respects nature, values organic production, and integrates local communities into the process.”

Patom Organic Living: green tourism and immersive experience

“When visitors come here, they participate in various activities, learn about organic farming and have direct contact with animals and chemical-free food production,” says Navaraj.

Family tradition and sustainable innovation

According to Navaraj, the venture is the result of a family tradition that began in 1962, when his grandparents bought a small plot of land and grew roses for Bangkok. Over the years, the business has evolved to include a hotel, restaurant, park, and, currently, operations focused on sustainability and responsible tourism.

"We're committed to sustainability on all fronts: organic farming, cosmetics production, and community education," he explains. Since 2012, all areas of the property have been certified organic, meeting international standards.

Community tourism and local engagement

Patom Organic Living is on the Global Meaningful Travel Summit agenda as an example of community-based tourism. Visitors participate in seasonal workshops, learn how to cultivate plants, produce oils and cosmetics, and experience sustainable agricultural practices.

"We welcome schools, corporate groups, and tourists to cultivation and production workshops, bringing them closer to the origins of our products and organic living," explains Navaraj. During the event, local farmers participate in a temporary market, strengthening the bond between producers and consumers and promoting transparency in the supply chain.

In addition to educational activities, the property maintains social and environmental projects, such as donating 3% of sales to local farmers, international certifications, and waste management initiatives, promoting environmental and social responsibility.

Innovation and sustainable expansion

Patom Organic Living also stands out for its innovation: immersive cafes in Bangkok, partner hotels, organic cosmetics production, and hands-on experiences for visitors, including the use of stingless bees for pollination and an organic dog park.

“Every project we undertake is designed to respect nature, involve the community and offer an authentic sustainable tourism experience,” concludes Navaraj.
