Imagine enjoying a gourmet dinner in Lima, recognized as the gastronomic capital of the Americas; toasting a pisco sour in a bar overlooking the Pacific; strolling through the streets steeped in history and charm of Cusco; or enjoying a luxurious picnic in the dunes of Ica under a starry sky. All this and more will be available to Colombians at the first edition of Peru Week, which will take place in the country from September 12 to 26.

This initiative by PROMPERÚ, the Peruvian state agency that promotes tourism, invites travelers from Colombia to discover Peru and experience iconic destinations that combine history, nature, and unforgettable experiences for all types of travelers.

During these two weeks, airlines such as LATAM, Avianca, and JetSmart, along with nearly 20 travel agencies in Bogotá and Medellín, will offer more than 40 tourist packages to the cities of Lima, Ica, Cusco, Puno, and Arequipa. To access them, those interested should visit the official campaign website: www.peruweek.co

"With Peru Week, Colombians can experience adventures, share special moments, and enjoy unique cuisine. It's two weeks of exclusive promotions for authentic and unforgettable experiences," said Julio Polanco, economic and commercial advisor at PROMPERÚ's Commercial Office in Colombia.

It's worth noting that this campaign has been successfully implemented in other markets such as Chile, Brazil, and Argentina. And this year, for the first time, it will be implemented in Colombia, focusing efforts on the cities of Bogotá and Medellín.

The flow of Colombians to Peru continues to increase.

Colombian interest in Peru is growing rapidly. More than 105,000 tourists will have traveled by July 2025 alone, representing a 12% increase compared to 2024. Colombia has thus consolidated its position as the fifth-largest source market for foreign visitors, with a 6% share of international arrivals.

Bogotá and Medellín account for the majority of travelers, who stay an average of seven nights and spend around USD $823 per stay. Air connectivity is also driving this growth: there are currently 111 direct weekly flights between the two countries, operated by LATAM, Avianca, JetSmart, and Wingo, ensuring comfort and flexibility on every trip.

According to official figures from PROMPERÚ, Colombian tourists come primarily from Cundinamarca (including Bogotá), Antioquia, and Valle del Cauca, and their favorite destinations include Lima, Cusco, Ica, Arequipa, and Puno, reflecting the growing interest in the cultural diversity, archaeological treasures, and gastronomic richness of our neighboring country.
