Mexico City, September 9, 2025.- Aeroméxico officially presented its new Mexico City – San Juan, Puerto Rico route, which will begin operating on October 29 from Mexico City International Airport.

The announcement was made at the Four Seasons Hotel, with the participation of Giancarlo Mulinelli, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Aeroméxico; Juan Inzunza, Regional Sales Manager for Mexico at Delta Air Lines; Jennie Shrem Serur, General Director of the Mexico City Tourism Promotion Institute, representing Alejandra Frausto, Secretary of Tourism of Mexico City; Francisco Blanch, Director of Leisure Sales for Descubre Puerto Rico; as well as business partners and travel agencies.

Under the Joint Partnership Agreement between Aeroméxico and Delta Air Lines, the Puerto Rican capital becomes the company's 27th destination in the United States, offering more than 1,300 weekly seats. The airline thus becomes the only one to operate direct flights between Mexico City and San Juan, reactivating a route that had been absent for more than 20 years.

Operations will be carried out using Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft, with four weekly flights. Additionally, between December 18 and January 4, the route will increase to one daily flight to meet peak season demand.

During the event, Giancarlo Mulinelli emphasized that the addition of San Juan reflects the airline's commitment to expanding its international network and strengthening Mexico's connectivity with new markets. Representatives from Delta Air Lines, the Mexico City Tourism Promotion Institute, and Discover Puerto Rico agreed on the importance of the new route in boosting tourism, business, and cultural exchange between the two destinations.

This opening is part of Aeroméxico's expansion strategy in the United States through 2025, a year in which it also added destinations such as Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Atlanta. The company currently operates more than 50 domestic routes and more than 60 international routes, consolidating its position as the airline with the most extensive connectivity network in Mexico.
