The current Hotel Alejandro I, one of the city's most iconic establishments, will become part of the Affiliated by Meliá hotel portfolio.

Focusing on destinations with great tourist and cultural potential, Meliá Hotels International will add the Alejandro I Affiliated by Meliá Hotel to its expanded offering in Argentina next October. Located in the heart of Salta, in the northwest of the country, the hotel is just a few meters from Plaza 9 de Julio, the Salta Cathedral, and the main points of interest in the historic center.

Alejandro I Hotel Affiliated by Meliá has 167 rooms and a comprehensive range of facilities, including a restaurant, bar, spa, gym, MICE spaces, and parking. This, coupled with its convenient location in the heart of the city, renowned for its colonial architecture, vibrant cultural life, and privileged natural surroundings, makes it the perfect hotel for travelers seeking unique experiences.

The hotel, which will operate under a franchise model, is located just 10 kilometers from Martín Miguel de Güemes International Airport, which connects Salta with major Argentine cities and international destinations such as São Paulo, Lima, Asunción, and Panama City (the latter since September). This connectivity reinforces its appeal for both leisure tourism and the MICE segment.

“Argentina is a country with enormous tourist and cultural appeal, and Salta represents one of its most authentic and promising destinations. The addition of the current Hotel Alejandro I to our portfolio, an iconic property with a solid reputation, allows us to continue growing with trusted local partners and offering our guests unique experiences in destinations with their own unique identity,” said Gabriel Escarrer, President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International.

With this new opening, Meliá Hotels International continues to advance its global growth strategy and reaffirm its commitment to the sustainable development of tourism in Latin America. The group currently has five hotels operating in Argentina and, with this new project, another four are in the process of opening.
