The Peruvian Export and Tourism Promotion Commission (PROMPERÚ) developed a high-impact agenda in Asia, reaffirming the country's position as a reliable supplier of fresh and processed agricultural products in the continent's most dynamic markets.
China International Fruit Expo, Shanghai
From August 27 to 29, Peru participated for the first time in the China International Fruit Expo, an event that in four years has established itself as a key platform for the fruit industry. Four Peruvian companies presented their offerings of grapes, avocados, mangoes, pomegranates, blueberries, citrus fruits, and ginger. The national presence generated expected business value of USD 7.7 million after nearly 300 trade meetings with regional buyers.
Asia Fruit Logistica, Hong Kong
From September 3-5, Peru stood out as an Official Partner Country at the most important fair in the Asian fruit and vegetable industry. The delegation, made up of 18 companies and associations, held more than 1,200 business meetings, which resulted in closed sales and business prospects totaling USD 201 million.
A significant highlight was the incorporation of new exporting companies, 50% of which are small, medium-sized, and large companies, expanding the national export base. Peru was also present at the fair's specialized forums, with presentations on Peruvian pomegranates and frozen products.
China Meet Up, Guangzhou
On September 8 and 9, Peru had its own space at the China Meet Up, held in Guangzhou, the city with the largest wholesale fruit market in China. This event strengthened the visibility of the exportable offering in a central hub of the agri-food trade.
Added to this is the upcoming Meet-Up in Peru, scheduled for October in Lima, which will allow for continued contacts generated in Asia and promote the country as a strategic logistics hub for trade with that continent.
Trade Mission to Tokyo, Japan
In parallel, a trade mission was held in Tokyo with the participation of four companies supplying fresh and processed foods. The agenda included meetings with potential Japanese buyers and visits to supermarket chains, with the aim of boosting the presence of Peruvian products in one of the most demanding markets in Asia.
With this strategic agenda, PROMPERÚ, an entity affiliated with Mincetur, consolidates the country's presence on international platforms that contribute to diversifying markets and positioning Peru as a reliable partner in the supply of high-quality fruits.
