The activity was carried out by the airline's volunteers in conjunction with the Verde Profundo Foundation and was part of the initiatives promoted by the airline to contribute to the preservation of natural resources and generate a positive impact in the communities where it operates.
In recent years, Arajet has developed reforestation campaigns in different areas of the country, planting emblematic species that directly contribute to the conservation of protected areas.
“At Arajet, we believe that sustainable tourism is the way to showcase the Dominican Republic's natural treasures to the world. We are committed to continuing to work hand in hand with organizations like the Deep Green Foundation, which dedicates itself to promoting ecosystem regeneration and environmental education in communities,” said Lucy Peréz, Senior Vice President of Sustainability.
During the event, Arajet volunteers supported the Deep Green Foundation in raising awareness about the importance of protecting marine and coastal ecosystems. This non-profit organization, founded in 2017 in Boca Chica, has led conservation programs that include the planting of 2,900 mangrove seedlings, the restoration of 60 coral domes, and the training of more than 3,500 volunteers in good environmental practices.
Tasha Gough, director of the Deep Green Foundation, emphasized that these initiatives not only contribute to conservation but also foster the development of ecotourism trails, the training of guides and facilitators, and the creation of sustainable incomes based on regenerative tourism and ecotourism.
With these actions, Arajet consolidates its vision of being a sustainable, efficient airline committed to preserving the Dominican Republic's natural resources, while promoting the country's position as a responsible tourism destination worldwide.
