What expectations does Costa Rica have for FIT Buenos Aires?
Argentina is one of South America's main source markets and a loyal following for Costa Rica. Argentine travelers value nature, safety, and the ability to explore the country independently. We come to offer what we offer to the world: a destination without overcrowding, where everyone can reconnect with themselves in a natural setting under the concept of "Pura Vida," which is more than a slogan, it's a way of life.
What have been the main milestones for Costa Rican tourism this year?
Tourism is one of the country's main foreign exchange-generating activities, but it also promotes resource conservation and community well-being. Our tourism development model is based on sustainability: companies that hire local labor, consume local products, and create productive chains. This is what makes Costa Rica different.
How can air connectivity be strengthened in the region?
We're expanding our routes to Costa Rica, allowing us to grow in key markets such as Argentina, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia. Argentina is the leading source of leisure and recreational tourism from South America, and we're working with 360-degree strategies to reach this consumer.
The hotel offering has also evolved. What new developments stand out?
Costa Rica continues to incorporate new hospitality offerings, especially in the luxury segment, but always underpinned by a philosophy of sustainability. It's part of our DNA: conserving, protecting, and sharing what we care for. Beyond satisfaction, we strive to offer authentic and transformative experiences.
Costa Rica is also distinguished by its education and human talent. How does this impact tourism?
Our country abolished the army more than 70 years ago, allocating those resources to health and education. Thanks to this decision, we have high levels of educational attainment and life expectancy, which is reflected in a high-caliber human capital. In tourism, we have biologists, forestry engineers, and highly trained professionals who convey the richness of our biodiversity and offer warm, quality service.
What are your expectations for 2026?
Our goal is to maintain healthy and measured growth, working on the destination's carrying capacity to ensure unforgettable and sustainable experiences. We seek to diversify markets, strengthening not only North America but also Europe and South America, with whom we share values and traditions. We want to continue growing without losing our essence and strengthening enriching contact with visitors from around the world.
