San Diego consolidates its position as a strategic destination for Copa Airlines
The Panamanian airline is expanding its network in the United States with direct flights from Panama City, strengthening connectivity in North America and adding a new point to its network of U.S. destinations
Since June, Copa Airlines has been operating four weekly flights to this Southern California city, renowned for its cultural diversity and numerous leisure options, nature, and historical heritage. This connection integrates the region into the company's international offerings, enhancing accessibility for travelers from Central and South America.
San Diego combines natural and cultural attractions, including Balboa Park, home to the iconic zoo, museums, gardens, and recreational spaces. Entertainment options include LEGOLAND and SeaWorld, as well as the USS Midway Museum, housed in a former aircraft carrier and showcasing naval life with simulators and interactive experiences.
The city also offers iconic beaches like La Jolla Cove and Coronado Beach, as well as a wide-ranging culinary offering characterized by a fusion of Mexican flavors and seafood, with dishes including fish tacos, California-style burritos, and ceviches, among others.
As part of this expansion, Copa Airlines guarantees comfort and onboard services in all its classes, including carry-on baggage, beverages, and snacks. The airline also offers Business Class and, on some routes, the Dreams option with lie-flat seats and an advanced entertainment system. Travelers can earn miles through the ConnectMiles loyalty program, redeemable on the Star Alliance global network, which covers more than 1,300 destinations in 193 countries.
The operation to San Diego is also integrated with Panama Stopover , a program that allows for a stopover of between one and six nights in Panama City at no additional cost to the ticket, including partnerships with hotels, restaurants, and local attractions.
