With a vision that combines nature, adventure, culture, and a globally recognized sustainable tourism model, the Central American country will seek to inspire travelers and strengthen its position as a leading destination in the region.
Known as a global benchmark in responsible tourism, this year's event will promote its three strategic pillars: innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity, with the goal of continuing to position itself as a unique destination that combines biodiversity, well-being, and community development.
During the fair, visitors will be able to learn about the country's enormous natural wealth, which is home to 6.5% of the world's biodiversity in just 0.03% of the planet's land area. With more than 25% of its territory protected and 30 national parks, Costa Rica stands out as the first tropical country to reverse deforestation, currently achieving 55% forest coverage.
The country will highlight its sustainable and accessible tourism, with 140 beaches certified with the Blue Ecological Flag, 15 of which are accessible for people with disabilities. This offering is complemented by cultural, culinary, and community experiences that reflect the essence and hospitality of Costa Rica.
Air connectivity will be another attraction: during the first four months of 2025, direct flights were registered from 19 countries, 30 airlines, and 48 cities, consolidating its position as an accessible destination for the region.
Argentina is Costa Rica's leading source of leisure and recreational tourists from South America. Last year, the country welcomed 25,009 Argentine tourists by air, and from January to August 2025, 22,593 more have already arrived, representing a 34.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Argentine tourists stay an average of 22 nights, and more than 20% of them have previously visited the destination, reflecting growing loyalty to the country brand.
Within the framework of the FIT, Costa Rica will also leverage its role as president of the UN Tourism Sustainability Commission, reaffirming its international leadership in promoting a balanced, supportive, and nature-friendly tourism model.
“Costa Rica is a transformative destination. It's not just about enjoying its landscapes or its cuisine, but about experiencing a profound reconnection with nature that invites us to rediscover who we are. Our commitment to sustainability is also a pact with the future: here, travelers find well-being, healing, and the opportunity to be reborn in contact with a unique environment that inspires and shapes,” said Ireth Rodriguez, Head of Tourism Promotion at the Costa Rican Tourism Institute.
With a specially designed stand, the country will invite visitors to experience an immersive experience through an aesthetic proposal that reflects the country's essence: paradisiacal beaches, imposing volcanoes, and unique wildlife. We will be joined by 11 Costa Rican companies, hotels, inbound tour operators, and a car rental company.
The space will feature a mini-cinema for 15 people, where an 8-minute video with dreamlike images will be shown, allowing attendees to "travel with their senses" thanks to wireless headphones, transporting them to the Costa Rican countryside.
For the little ones, stickers with typical illustrations of the country will be distributed, reinforcing the playful and cultural connection with visitors. The park will also feature iconic images of biodiversity and landscapes, such as the sloth, the red-eyed tree frog, the quetzal, and the scarlet macaw, as well as postcards of Cahuita, Manuel Antonio, the
Río Celeste waterfalls, and the Arenal Volcano.
In this way, Costa Rica will arrive at FIT 2025 to share not only its landscapes and experiences, but also its vision of sustainable tourism, which, with more than 40 years of history, is now consolidated as a driver of economic, social, and environmental development.
