Norwegian Aqua makes waves with its arrival in Miami for a season of Caribbean cruises

Miami is preparing to experience a new era in the cruise industry with the arrival of Norwegian Aqua , Norwegian Cruise Line 's (NCL) newest ship , which begins its Caribbean travel season from its new homeport. The ship will offer seven-day roundtrip itineraries from the cruise capital of the world through April 2026, with stops in some of the region's most attractive destinations.

After completing her inaugural season of voyages to Bermuda from New York, Norwegian Aqua is embarking on a series of Caribbean and Bahamas voyages , calling at Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic) , St. Thomas (U.S. Virgin Islands) , Tortola (British Virgin Islands) and NCL’s private island of Great Stirrup Cay . The exclusive destination is currently undergoing a renovation and is expected to feature a new pier, a 25,000-square-foot heated pool and a children’s water play area by the end of 2025.

Among its most notable innovations is the Aqua Slidecoaster , the world's first hybrid roller coaster and waterslide , which spans three decks and offers two different rides.

Onboard entertainment includes the Glow Court , a digital sports complex with an LED floor that offers interactive games during the day and transforms into a nightclub at night; the Aqua Game Zone , a virtual reality gaming room with classics like Ms. Pac-Man and Mario Brothers ; and outdoor spaces like The Stadium , The Drop —a ten-story dry slide—and the Bull's Eye Bar , ideal for socializing with friends.

For those seeking relaxation, the ship features the adults-only Vibe Beach Club , with cabanas and panoramic ocean views, and the Mandara Spa and Salon , which offers wellness treatments, saunas, and a complete thermal area. With fares starting at $249 per person for three-day Bahamas cruises and $499 for seven-day Caribbean itineraries, the company is also offering a 35% discount for a limited time and all-inclusive packages with premium beverages, high-speed Wi-Fi, and excursion credits.
