RIU Hotels & Resorts has announced the reopening of the Riu Guanacaste hotel after completing a comprehensive renovation that has completely modernized its facilities and elevated the vacation experience to a new level. This iconic resort, located on the beachfront of Playa Matapalo in Costa Rica, has been renovated respecting the essence of the destination and with the goal of continuing to offer quality service to its guests.

The Riu Guanacaste, which opened in 2009, was the first hotel RIU Hotels opened in the destination. It followed this with the opening of its second hotel in the country in 2012, the Riu Palace Costa Rica. Following the renovation work, the Riu Guanacaste has completely renovated all its rooms, common areas, restaurants, bars, and outdoor areas. The new interior design is inspired by the natural beauty of the surroundings, incorporating materials and colors that reflect Costa Rican biodiversity and culture.

With the expansion of 300 rooms completed last year, the hotel now boasts a total of 1,041 completely redesigned rooms, more spacious and bright to ensure maximum comfort and relaxation for its guests. In addition, a total of eight swim-up rooms with private pools have been added to the Riu Guanacaste.

The common areas have also been completely renovated. The lobby now boasts an open and much more functional style, maximizing the space and natural light, creating a greater sense of spaciousness. New shaded areas and gardens have been added to the outdoor areas, and the pool area has been completely redesigned, now boasting a total of six, three of which have swim-up bars.

The culinary offering has expanded with the addition of new concepts and the remodeling of all restaurants. The hotel now offers a wide culinary variety with international options, such as its Asian specialty restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, an Italian restaurant, and its classic steakhouse. It also has two buffet restaurants with live entertainment stations, two snack stations with grill-style food, Pepe's Food, and two Mexican taco stations, Tiki Taco.

Additionally, all hotel bars have been renovated, and a new Candy Ice Cream Parlor has been introduced, where guests can enjoy ice cream and pastries, among other sweet treats. Similarly, the Sports Bar has adopted the new American Country concept, offering guests All-American favorites a la carte and continuing to offer drinks and snacks 24 hours a day.

The littlest members of the family will be able to enjoy a completely renovated RiuLand children's area. In addition, all Riu Guanacaste guests will continue to enjoy Splash Water World, the RIU resort's water park, and Riu Party, the weekly themed parties open to guests of both hotels.
