What are Guatemala's main objectives in participating in IMEX America?

The MICE segment is very important to us and also to the Guatemalan business leaders working in it. Participating in fairs like IMEX is key to building strategic alliances that strengthen Guatemala as an ideal destination for congresses, conventions, and events. The number of business leaders joining us this year demonstrates this interest: they all arrived with appointment schedules with potential clients looking for new destinations for their meetings.

What is the composition of the Guatemalan delegation for this edition?

We're joined by several hotel chains, some of the largest in the country, which have all the necessary infrastructure to accommodate large-scale groups and events. Guatemala also offers great versatility: we have options not only in Guatemala City but also in destinations like Antigua Guatemala and Petén. Each location has its own unique appeal and the ability to adapt to the needs of each organizer.

Beyond traditional meeting places, what other experiences can visitors to Guatemala have?

Increasingly, groups choosing Guatemala are looking for experiences that go beyond the corporate sphere. They want to combine their meetings with time to explore the city, enjoy the local cuisine, or visit nearby tourist sites without having to travel long distances. Guatemala offers all of this, combined with our warmth and hospitality, something that truly distinguishes us as a country.

What progress or improvements can be highlighted in terms of infrastructure and tourism services?

The hotels in the delegation offer new conditions and services designed to guarantee complete experiences for visitors. At INGUAT, as the governing body of tourism, we facilitate these spaces for business owners and have the Tourist Assistance System (Asistur), which operates 24 hours a day. We also coordinate logistical and security support, especially for large groups, ensuring smooth and safe transfers and stays.

Are there any specific programs or incentives for event organizers?

Yes, we have a specialized convention department that provides direct support to organizers. This team works on a personalized basis to assist those who choose Guatemala as the venue for their events, offering advice and logistical assistance.

Finally, what cultural experiences do you recommend to those visiting the country?

Guatemala has an enormous cultural wealth. Depending on the region and time of year, you can enjoy a variety of activities, from visits to archaeological sites and museums to culinary experiences that showcase the country's diversity. We are promoting offerings that stimulate all the senses—aroma, color, flavor—so that every visitor can enjoy a complete and authentic experience.
