What is the goal of participating in IMEX America, and how important is the North American market for Curaçao?

The Curaçao Tourist Board participates annually in this fair to strengthen Curaçao's position as a premier Caribbean destination for both leisure and corporate events. Being here allows us to connect face-to-face with meeting planners, buyers, and international travel professionals seeking authentic destinations with well-equipped infrastructure.

The North American market is key, as it allows us to expand our promotion and strengthen relationships with strategic buyers, positioning Curaçao as one of the leading options for the MICE segment.

How would you describe the infrastructure Curaçao offers for hosting groups and events?

Curaçao is fully equipped to accommodate groups of any size. We have DMC companies offering customized excursions, transportation, and activities. The island has a modern fleet of buses and cars, and excellent internal connectivity.

Additionally, we have a robust hotel offering located within or near the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Key brands include Marriott, Autograph Collection by Marriott, Sandals, and Curio Collection by Hilton properties, all highly recognized in the North American market.

Does the Curaçao Tourist Board offer incentives or special assistance for event organizers?

More than direct incentives, our role is to support buyers and facilitate their work. We help organize site inspections , connect with local suppliers, and coordinate logistics so groups can arrive on the island without complications. We can also assist with customs clearance, for example, when shipping materials or gifts for incentive groups.

What new developments or recent projects can you highlight?

In recent years, Curaçao has added several internationally branded properties, including new all-inclusive resorts from Hilton, Hyatt, and a new Autograph Collection, which will open next year in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In addition, the island has significantly improved its air connectivity, with direct flights from Miami, Charlotte, New York, Newark, and now also Atlanta with Delta. Starting in December, American Airlines will add a new route from Chicago, making the destination even more accessible for groups and meetings.

What would be your final message for event planners?

Curaçao is much more than a beautiful Caribbean island: it's a destination that combines authentic culture, warm hospitality, and professional infrastructure, ideal for organizers looking for a unique and well-connected experience in the region.
