San Francisco and Los Angeles brought together 182 key industry stakeholders. Tour operators, airlines, wholesale agencies, and tourism associations gathered to learn firsthand about Mexico's diverse tourism offerings, strengthen commercial alliances, and open up new business opportunities.
This CREATURISMO initiative is part of a comprehensive tourism promotion strategy in key markets. The format included destination presentations, product showcases, and structured networking sessions, which enabled the creation of high-value connections between Mexican exhibitors and key players in outbound tourism.
“We brought together 553 buyers across three tours. The positive response we received in Chicago/Toronto/Dallas/Houston and San Francisco/Los Angeles confirms the strong interest in the U.S. and Canadian markets to learn more about Mexico as a tourist destination. In San Francisco and Los Angeles—cities with a deep cultural affinity with our country—we seek to consolidate our presence and strengthen ties with strategic partners. Both cities not only boost leisure tourism to Mexico but also generate a steady stream of family trips and repeat visits,” said Rodrigo Hurtado, Chief Operating Officer of CREATURISMO.
From January to July 2025, Mexico welcomed 8.8 million American tourists by air, a significant portion of whom originated in the state of California. Air connectivity from this state is particularly important: Los Angeles hosts nearly 319 weekly flights to Mexico, while San Francisco provides 132 weekly flights, consolidating the West Coast as one of the main air corridors to our country.
Based on trends observed by the sector, it is estimated that leisure and recreational tourism represents the main reason for travel from San Francisco and Los Angeles to Mexico, followed by visiting family and friends, driven by migration and cultural ties. The average spending of travelers from these cities is potentially higher than the national average for U.S. tourists, due to their high income levels. The average trip duration ranges between 5 and 10 days, with destinations that include beaches, cities, culture, and nature.
“Meet México Road Show 2025” is part of the international promotional strategy leading up to the 50th Tianguis Turístico, to be held in 2026 in Acapulco, Guerrero. The final tour of 2025 includes the cities of New York and Montreal, from November 10-14, expanding the reach of this unprecedented commercial strategy.
