During the conference, PROMPERÚ, the state agency responsible for promoting tourism in the country, presented to approximately 150 travel agencies the experiences that make Peru a must-see destination for those seeking contact with nature and outdoor activities. The country offers unique options in regions such as Lima, Ica, Cusco, Puno, Arequipa, and Áncash, which combine sea, desert, and mountains. On the Pacific coast, you can practice surfing, kitesurfing, and stand-up paddleboarding, among other activities, while in the Andean region, you can go trekking, climbing, and rafting.
Participation in ABAV reinforced Peru's commitment to strengthening ties with the Brazilian tourism industry and expanding business opportunities and joint promotion. The objective was to showcase how the country combines adventure, culture, and gastronomy into authentic and sustainable experiences. Currently, there are 42 direct weekly flights connecting Lima with São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Porto Alegre, and Curitiba, with an average flight time of between 4.5 and 5 hours, which favors the growth of tourism between the two countries.
The year 2025 has been marked by important initiatives and opportunities for the destination. At the end of September, the city of Carhuaz, in the Ancash region, hosted Peru Outdoor Expo 2025, an international adventure and nature business event organized by PROMPERÚ, which brought together industry professionals to promote this segment and strengthen integration between destinations and operators.
The country is also preparing for two important events on its tourism and cultural agenda. From October 30th to November 2nd, Lima will host a new edition of Perú, Mucho Gusto, a fair celebrating the diversity and quality of Peruvian gastronomy. In its 29th edition, the event will bring together 181 exhibitors from 25 regions of the country, presenting traditional dishes, artisanal drinks, pisco-based cocktails, and cultural presentations. The fair will be held in a renovated space on the Costa Verde and will feature forums, cooking classes, activities, and shows.
On November 29, Lima will host the Copa Libertadores final, an event that attracts thousands of foreign visitors and boosts the local economy. With its extensive air connectivity and the new Jorge Chávez International Airport terminal, the city is consolidating its position as an accessible destination, ready to welcome both football fans and travelers looking to explore its culture, cuisine, and unique landscapes.
"We want to inspire the Brazilian public to explore all the possibilities Peru offers and reinforce our image as a country of nature, adventure, and hospitality. Participating in ABAV was an opportunity to strengthen relationships and showcase the diversity of our tourism offerings," said Silvia Seperack, economic and commercial advisor for PROMPERÚ in Brazil.
