The 37th edition of Festuris – Gramado International Tourism Fair, one of the most important events in the sector in Latin America, arrives with an even more diverse and transformative offering. One of this year's new features is the expansion of the LGBT+ Space, which now includes new forms of inclusive tourism, such as Afrotourism, and is now recognized as a Diversity Space.

With the strengthening of initiatives promoting Afro-Brazilian culture and the growing interest in authentic and socially responsible experiences, Afrotourism is gaining strategic visibility on the national and international stage. Festuris 2025 supports this global trend by creating a space for debates, business connections, and experiences that highlight Black ancestry and the importance of Afro-entrepreneurs.

“We are experiencing a new era in tourism. Diversity is an agenda that deserves attention, and for tourism, it represents a real opportunity for economic development, innovation, and social justice. The Diversity Space is designed to reflect this change,” emphasizes Eduardo Zorzanello, CEO of Festuris.

Afrotourism: tourism with identity and purpose

Afrotourism is a trend that connects visitors with the roots of Afro-descendant culture, promoting immersive experiences that include historical routes, cultural events, experiences in quilombola communities, religious experiences, gastronomy, and Black entrepreneurship.

The theme's presence at Festuris comes at a time of strengthening for the sector. In partnership with UNESCO, the Ministry of Tourism is conducting a national mapping of Afrotourism, which aims to gather information on routes, destinations, products, and events led by Afroentrepreneurs. The initiative is part of the Black Routes Program, which aims to promote the sustainable development of Black communities through tourism.

The growth of the sector, driven by movements like Black Lives Matter and increasing social awareness among travelers, makes Afrotourism a powerful tool for cultural appreciation, empowerment, and income generation for Black communities.

DIVERSITY SPACE – Expanding the LGBT+ Space into a Diversity Space represents a significant advance in the way tourism is presented and discussed at Festuris. The space will be dedicated to promoting inclusive initiatives that represent the different identities and possibilities for action in the sector, including Afrotourism, LGBTQIA+ tourism, indigenous tourism, accessible tourism, among others.

“Tourism is a reflection of society, and society is diverse. Festuris understands this and offers a space where all voices can be heard and respected, promoting genuine innovation and inclusion,” Zorzanello emphasizes.
