LATAM Airlines Group reaffirms its commitment to Mexico and Latin America through a strategy focused on fleet modernization, technological innovation, and service excellence, consolidating its position as the most important airline group in South America.
As part of this new phase, the company appointed Nicolás Poitevin as General Manager for Mexico. With more than 15 years of experience in planning and strategic leadership in international companies, Poitevin will be tasked with strengthening the group's operations and connectivity in the country, driving sustainable growth.
LATAM currently connects Mexico with more than 160 destinations in 27 South American countries, with direct flights from Mexico City and Cancún to Santiago, São Paulo, and Lima. These routes, operated with one of the most modern and efficient fleets in the region, reinforce the strategic importance of the Mexican market within the group's global network.
In line with its expansion plan, LATAM announced an agreement with Embraer to acquire up to 74 E195-E2 aircraft, with deliveries slated to begin in 2026. This step reinforces its commitment to efficiency and sustainability, adding to the renewal process that already includes 362 operational aircraft, 86 of which are state-of-the-art.
In terms of passenger experience, the airline implemented new Premium Business Suites, with greater privacy and a design inspired by South American landscapes, and is preparing to launch the Premium Comfort cabin in 2027, which will offer more space, comfort, and connectivity on long-haul flights.
LATAM has been recognized by Skytrax, APEX, and the PAX Readership Awards as Best Airline in South America, Best Business Class, and Best Staff in the region, distinctions that reflect its commitment to innovation and service.
With domestic operations in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, the group continues to expand its connectivity network between Mexico and South America, strengthening its role as a leading air transport provider in the region.
