Last Thursday, October 16th, the new Paradisus Fuerteventura celebrated its long-awaited opening with an exclusive event that brought together personalities from the worlds of fashion, culture, and communication, in a setting where luxury, the destination, and connection with the surroundings took center stage.
The evening was hosted by representatives of Banca March, co-owner of the hotel along with the bank's clients, led by its CEO, Jose Luis Acea, and Meliá Hotels International, led by its President and CEO, Gabriel Escarrer, as well as a distinguished group of officials and personalities from Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands. Together, they welcomed the attendees and presented Paradisus Fuerteventura as the new icon of all-inclusive luxury in the Canary Islands. Throughout the evening, attendees witnessed the concept of "wellness designed by the destination," a philosophy that seeks to offer personalized experiences focused on the physical, mental, and emotional balance of each guest to tailor a dream vacation down to the last detail.
Guests at the event included models such as Ariadne Artiles and Helen Lindes, as well as current personalities such as Eugenia Osborne, Esther Acebo, Emily Turney, and Daniel Castilla, who enjoyed an immersive experience under the starry sky of Fuerteventura. The event, "inspired by the destination" in line with the Paradisus brand philosophy, exuded exquisite local flavor and color. It also featured Canarian culinary specialties, island musicians, and the presence of local artisans who have shaped the hotel's aesthetic essence, a collaboration that highlights the expertise and authenticity of the island's talent.
The evening culminated with a cocktail party that combined a DJ set, culinary stations—one for each of the hotel's culinary spaces—and a live show, creating a unique sunset atmosphere that celebrated the free and vibrant essence of Fuerteventura.
Paradisus Fuerteventura, the gateway to discovering the island's natural luxury.
Located opposite Sotavento Beach, one of the archipelago's most impressive landscapes and declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Paradisus Fuerteventura offers much more than a simple vacation. With its all-inclusive luxury concept, guests can define their stay at their own pace thanks to a wide variety of experiences ranging from relaxation to fun, both inside and outside the hotel. All of this stems from the surrounding environment, which inspires the architecture, craftsmanship, gastronomy, activities, and experiences, integrating them harmoniously and naturally. In this way, Paradisus Fuerteventura invites you to reconnect with yourself and the destination through a program that balances wellness, adventure, and local culture.
The resort offers a wide range of experiences, from water sports such as windsurfing and kitesurfing at the René Egli by Meliá center to wellness rituals, craft workshops, and sunset concerts. Also present is the first-class cuisine at MAHOS, the hotel's flagship restaurant led by Chef Germán Ortega, which offers signature cuisine inspired by the island's local ingredients and flavors.
With this opening, Paradisus by Meliá consolidates its presence in the Canary Islands, positioning Fuerteventura as a destination of relaxation, exclusivity, and well-being. It joins the collection of hotels in the archipelago—Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote and Paradisus Gran Canarias—that seek to offer not just a stay, but a transformative experience. The project is part of the alliance signed two years ago by Meliá Hotels International and Banca March to develop joint projects in the hotel sector that, like Paradisus Fuerteventura, can responsibly create shared value for investors and destinations.
As Jose Luis Acea, CEO of Banca March, stated, "For us, participating in a project like Paradisus Fuerteventura is an opportunity to contribute to the sustainable growth of the island, highlighting its natural, cultural, and human riches. This collaboration with Meliá Hotels International reflects our long-term vision and our commitment to responsible investment, which generates value for the territory and the people who live there, as well as contributing to the prestige of the Spanish tourism sector. It is also an example of the value we seek to generate within the framework of our Co-investment strategies, since Banca March co-owns the hotel with its clients. Co-investment is a hallmark and the ultimate expression of our alignment of interests with our clients, as we invite them to participate as partners in the same projects as the Group."
For his part, Gabriel Escarrer, President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, stated: “With the opening of Paradisus Fuerteventura, we reinforce our firm commitment to the Canary Islands as a key destination for quality, sustainable tourism. This new hotel represents the evolution of the all-inclusive concept, elevating it to a transformative experience that deeply connects with the local environment and culture. We are very pleased with our alliance with Banca March, a highly trusted partner with whom we share important values and a vision for the future of tourism.”
Paradisus Fuerteventura thus becomes the second of three planned openings under the strategic alliance that Meliá Hotels International signed with the banking institution Banca March. The goal of the collaboration was and continues to be to develop joint projects that responsibly create shared value for investors and destinations.
More than a hotel, Paradisus Fuerteventura presents itself as a refuge where you can stop, breathe, and reconnect with what's essential. On an island declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the new resort redefines luxury through authenticity , tranquility, and a connection to the destination.
