In the framework of the Central American Travel Market (CATM 2025), the highest representatives of the region's Ministries of Tourism and the presidents of the Chambers of Tourism grouped under the Federation of Central American Chambers of Tourism (FEDECATUR) held a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA).
The session, held in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, featured the participation of Ms. Nicolle Solano, CEO for Tourism, Youth, Sports, and Diaspora Relations at the Ministry of Tourism of Belize, the country that holds the Pro Tempore Presidency of CATA.
During the meeting, the members of the Board of Directors discussed the main progress achieved by the Agency during 2025, a year characterized by the consolidation of the region's joint promotion as a competitive multi-destination tourism destination. Notable achievements include the execution of international positioning campaigns, participation in global tourism fairs, the implementation of digital marketing actions, and the coordination of strategic events to strengthen the regional industry.
The executives also learned details about the Central America Travel Market 2025, which will take place from October 21 to 23 in San Pedro Sula. The fair reaffirms its role as the main platform for promoting and marketing Central American tourism to source markets in Europe, North America, and South America.
The Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA), created by agreement of the Presidents of the member countries of the Central American Integration System (SICA), continues to position the region as a diverse, competitive, and united destination under the vision of "Seven countries, one region."
Among the strategic allies supporting this edition are Televicentro, Publimovil, Avianca, Espresso Americano, Tropic Air, Tag Airlines, La 20, Xplore Rent a Car, Incontacto, Transportes del Sol, the Secretariat of Culture, Arts and Heritage of the Peoples of Honduras, Glifos, the San Pedro Sula Convention Bureau, the Honduran Coffee Institute (IHCAFE), Danilos, Craftbartender, the Municipal Government of San Pedro Sula, and Kerti, among others.
CATM 2025 is consolidating its position as a regional tourism promotion and marketing platform that brings together Central American entrepreneurs with international wholesalers. This edition is expected to feature more than 100 international wholesalers from Europe, North America, Asia, and South America, along with around 150 regional exhibitors, including hotel chains, airlines, tour operators, and inbound agencies, in addition to more than 2,000 B2B business meetings and coverage from more than 50 international media outlets.
