Within the framework of the Central American Travel Market (CATM) 2025, the Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA) held the third edition of the Innovation and Tourism Conference. The meeting brought together international experts, business leaders, and representatives from the public and private sectors to discuss the trends that are redefining the tourism industry and how the region can leverage them to boost its growth and competitiveness.

The event brought together public and private stakeholders committed to innovation, sustainability, and regional tourism competitiveness, as well as wholesalers and international media outlets.

During his opening remarks, CATA Secretary General Boris Iraheta highlighted the importance of strengthening the regional vision through dialogue spaces such as this one:

"Innovation isn't just about technology; it's also about collaboration, strategy, and a shared vision. This meeting reaffirms Central America's commitment to promoting more integrated, sustainable, and resilient tourism," Iraheta said.

The conference featured participation by Marité Flores, Business Development Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) at Mabrian, who presented the study "Growth Opportunities for Tourism in the Region"; Camila Corrales, Regional Manager of Tourist Destinations at Amadeus, with her presentation "Tourism with Vision: Global Trends and Opportunities for Central America and the Dominican Republic"; and Ana María Viscasillas, Executive Consultant at Next Factor, with her presentation "The Direction of Destinations and Their Community Alignment."

Additionally, as part of the program, the panel "Central American Brands: Brands with a Regional Vision that Commit to Tourism" was held, moderated by the Secretary General of CATA, with the participation of representatives from leading companies such as Televicentro and Emisoras Unidas, Tropic Air Belize, Publimovil, and TAG Airlines, who shared their experience on how strategic alliances between the private sector and regional institutions strengthen Central America's international projection as a multi-destination.

The meeting was part of the official agenda of the Central American Travel Market (CATM) 2025, the main regional tourism fair organized by the Honduran Tourism Institute (IHT), the National Chamber of Tourism of Honduras (CANATURH), along with the Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA), and the Federation of Central American Chambers of Tourism (FEDECATUR). This event this year positions Honduras as the meeting point for Central American tourism among international buyers and media.
