Advance planning is consolidating as one of the main tourism trends in Latin America. According to the COCHA Travel Insights study, advance purchases for summer vacations in 2025–2026 increased between 10% and 12% compared to the previous year, reflecting a sustained change in regional traveler habits, who are increasingly focused on ensuring convenient prices, flexibility, and family benefits.
“The interest in booking early shows that travelers are changing the way they plan: today, they're looking for comprehensive experiences, expert advice, and easy payment options that allow them to travel with peace of mind,” said Daiana Mediña, Head of Brand and PR at COCHA.
The company is continuing its COCHA HITS campaign until November 2, with discounts of up to 70% on all-inclusive resorts and additional benefits such as free children, resort credits, and summer kits.
Caribbean destinations top the list, with chains such as Bahia Principe, Iberostar, Decameron, Catalonia, Viva Wyndham, Ocean Hotels, and Meliá-Paradisus offering up to 35% off or $150,000 in discounts, ideal for family trips or couples' getaways.
Among the most sought-after international destinations is Aruba, with a special promotion of $120,000 off purchases over $1,500,000 (code ARUBAFELIZ). Also notable are San Andrés, Cartagena, Punta Cana, Playa del Carmen, the Riviera Maya, and Bayahíbe, with discounts of up to 60% off and multiple family benefits.
Airlines are also following this trend:
Air Canada is offering $100,000 off flights to Canada, the United States, Europe, and Japan, exclusively with COCHA.
Avianca applies a $70,000 discount on routes to the Caribbean and Europe starting at $600,000.
City break tourism is also growing, with Buenos Aires a leading option for long weekends, while Europe and Asia maintain their appeal with 8% off Europamundo tours and 2026/2027 presales valid until January 15.
Added to this is a special Universal Assistance benefit, which offers a 75% refund for cancellations "Any Reason," available for purchase through COCHA agents.
Families lead the bookings, driven by resorts with child-friendly benefits, while couples opt for premium experiences in the Caribbean and Mexico, where luxury, gastronomy, and wellness make the difference.
The financing and points redemption program—which includes partnerships with Itaú and Cencosud—allows you to access 3, 10, or 12 interest-free installments, facilitating advance planning without compromising your family budget.
"This extension of COCHA HITS confirms the new traveler profile: planning ahead, comparing benefits, and seeking safe and convenient experiences. Planning ahead is no longer an exception, but a new way of traveling," Mediña concluded.
