Iberostar Hotels & Resorts announced the reopening of the Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace, located on Jandía beach, following a renovation that redefines its offering for the premium segment. With over three decades of presence in the archipelago, the company reinforces its commitment to the Canary Islands and to a responsible tourism model, generating more than 300 direct jobs at the hotel.
The hotel's redesign draws inspiration from the tranquility and natural landscapes of Fuerteventura, integrating elements of the local flora and fauna into its interiors. The complex boasts 437 fully renovated rooms, four swimming pools, a gym, the Spa Sensations, and a diverse culinary offering comprised of three restaurants and three bars. New additions include the 24-hour Star Café; the Sansofí Lobby Bar with an outdoor terrace; the alMar restaurant, specializing in local cuisine with a beachfront location; and the expanded Teppanyaki Tsukiji with a new menu.
The Star Prestige area offers an exclusive space with a pool, solarium, and lounge designed for complete relaxation. The renovation places the hotel within Iberostar's Selection category, geared towards couples and families who prioritize comfort, tranquility, and connection with nature.
According to Finn Ackermann, Chief Commercial Officer of Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, this transformation reaffirms the group's commitment to the Canary Islands as a strategic destination in the European market and its commitment to generating value for employees, partners and local communities.
The project also reinforces the hotel's connection to the island's identity, integrating experiences that promote knowledge of the territory and a connection with natural elements. Aloe vera, a characteristic product of the island, is incorporated as a central theme in workshops and wellness treatments.
In terms of sustainability, the Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace is making progress in implementing the Wave of Change movement , the group's global roadmap for promoting more conscious tourism. The hotel operates with 100% renewable electricity and has modernized its systems to optimize energy efficiency. Furthermore, it collaborates with local suppliers who guarantee the responsible sourcing of fish and seafood, in line with the corporate goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
Environmental management is complemented by circular economy initiatives, such as a pilot project for composting organic waste, the continued operation of the specialized 3R team (Recycle, Reduce, and Reuse), and the use of artificial intelligence to reduce food waste. The hotel also participates in a textile recovery program that gives new life to uniforms and other discarded materials.
With this renewal, Iberostar reinforces its leadership in the Canary Islands hotel sector and reaffirms its commitment to innovation, sustainability and quality in the tourist experience.
