Iberostar Hotels & Resorts announced the opening of the Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancún, a five-star all-inclusive resort located just minutes from Cancún International Airport and near the fishing village of Puerto Morelos. With this addition, the company now has 12 hotels and more than 4,400 rooms in Mexico, solidifying its presence in one of the Caribbean's most important tourist destinations.

The new resort features 444 suites equipped with Jacuzzis, including family rooms, swim-up suites with direct access to semi-private pools, and oceanfront suites. Designed for comfort and privacy, it blends contemporary elegance with the essence of the Caribbean setting.

“The opening of the Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun reinforces our commitment to Mexico and to the development of responsible tourism that generates lasting value for local communities,” said Phil Mc Aveety, CEO of Iberostar Hotels & Resorts.

The gastronomic offering includes an international buffet restaurant, a pizzeria with a wood-fired oven and four specialty restaurants: Italian, Mexican, Caribbean and Spanish, in addition to six bars, three of them swim-up type, and a Star Café.

The resort is part of the Iberostar Selection category, focused on offering premium experiences for couples and families, with high-level services, wellness, gastronomy and entertainment in a privileged natural environment.

Commitment to Sustainable Tourism:
The hotel incorporates the practices of the Wave of Change movement, Iberostar's global initiative that promotes a tourism model based on the circular economy, the protection of the marine environment, and the elimination of single-use plastics. It also offers responsibly sourced fish and seafood, purified water fountains, and a comprehensive waste management program.

During the months prior to the opening, the company carried out an intensive training program for the more than 650 employees that make up the hotel team, aimed at strengthening the quality of service and promoting the brand's sustainable philosophy.

With this opening, Iberostar consolidates its position in the Mexican market, reaffirming its purpose of combining hospitality, sustainability and innovation in the main destinations of the Caribbean.
