The Dominican airline Arajet announced that it has obtained the IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) registration granted by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which represents the highest standard of audit in operational safety matters, being the most recognized in the airline industry worldwide.

With this achievement, Arajet becomes the first airline in the Dominican Republic in the entire history of national aviation to enter the IOSA registry, a milestone that reaffirms its strong commitment to excellence, safety and quality in every operation.

“This recognition not only validates the safety culture we practice daily, but also confirms that our processes are aligned with the highest international standards,” stated Víctor Miguel Pacheco, CEO of Arajet, who added: “Being the first Dominican airline to obtain IOSA registration is a source of national pride and a vote of confidence for our passengers, employees, and partners throughout the region.”

The IOSA registry is a standardized assessment system that audits airlines' operational management and control systems, including flight operations, dispatch and operational control, maintenance and airworthiness, cabin operations, ground services, and more.

Its objective is to improve operational safety by verifying compliance with standards and recommended best practices. Being on the IOSA Register means that the airline has successfully completed a comprehensive review and benchmarked against industry best practices.

The certificate presentation ceremony was led by Igor Rodríguez, director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), who stated: “As director of IDAC, we celebrate this historic milestone: Arajet’s inclusion in the IATA IOSA registry, an achievement that confirms compliance with the highest international operational safety standards and consolidates the Dominican Republic’s leadership as an air hub in the Americas.”

Serkan Simitcioglu, head of IATA's IOSA Programme, stated that “IOSA promotes an operational discipline that is transversal to all areas of an airline. The audit process—which includes document review, interviews, and live observation of operations—enables airlines to strengthen their safety culture and reach the next level in international standards.”

In this regard, Garret Malone, Arajet's Chief Operating Officer (COO), stated that “The IOSA certification strengthens the confidence of passengers, authorities, airports, and partner airlines, opening doors to new alliances and interline agreements and contributing to the connectivity that Arajet offers from the Dominican Republic to the entire continent. This achievement supports the company's vision of consolidating Santo Domingo and Punta Cana as strategic hubs for the region.”
