erra Park, in Gramado (RS), hosted another edition of Festuris, one of the most influential events in the sector in Brazil. Bringing together professionals, brands and destinations, this year's meeting invited the public to reflect on the theme "Reimagining Tomorrow", focusing on sustainability, innovation and transformative experiences.
Among the event's highlights, the Resorts Brasil booth was a meeting point for important tourism leaders. There, Flávio Monteiro, sales and marketing director of Transamerica Comandatuba, shared his vision on the role of responsible tourism and the potential of the Bahian coast as a destination for unique experiences.
A resort in harmony with culture and nature.
“Our hotel is a passion because it’s in Bahia — and Bahia is synonymous with happiness, music, and culture,” Monteiro said enthusiastically. Located on an island in the south of the state, the Transamerica Comandatuba combines luxury, tranquility, and regional identity. “We are in a cocoa region, one of the richest in the world. Guests can visit historic farms, learn about cultivation, and taste chocolates produced right there,” he explains.
According to the director, the integration between tourism and the community is fundamental: “Cocoa is a crop that preserves the forest. Our resort is located in a conservation environment, surrounded by mangroves and biodiversity, and supports riverside and extractive families who have lived on the island for generations.”
Commitment to sustainable tourism
Transamerica Comandatuba was the only Brazilian resort to participate in a panel at COP30 in Belém, discussing the role of tourism in environmental preservation. Monteiro emphasizes that this presence reinforces the brand's commitment to responsible practices. "We take sustainability beyond mere rhetoric. It's part of the experience we offer," he states.
Experiences that combine comfort and authenticity.
With over 80 leisure options, the resort offers activities that go far beyond accommodation. “We have gastronomy and chocolate workshops, ecological hikes, boat trips, and experiences focused on the local culture. All of this on an exclusive 20-kilometer beach,” explains Monteiro.
Because it's on an island, the environment is safe and ideal for families. "Guests relax knowing they're in a place without traffic, without vendors, and with total privacy. It's a profound state of tranquility," he adds.
The essence of the extended family
Monteiro advocates a concept that perfectly captures the spirit of the resort: the extended family. “We welcome groups of friends, families spanning multiple generations, and even sporting events, such as women's-only beach tennis tournaments. For us, any group that chooses to share an experience together becomes part of this large family,” he explains.
The main clientele comes from the South and Southeast of Brazil, but the resort also attracts foreigners, especially Argentinians and Europeans. "We have exclusive flights departing from Congonhas directly to our private airport. Guests disembark right inside the resort, without having to face queues or long journeys," the executive points out.
New Year's Eve by the sea with a Bahian soul.
One of the most anticipated moments of the year is New Year's Eve, which has become synonymous with success and full occupancy. For seven days, the resort offers themed nights dedicated to cocoa, cuisine, and the arts of Bahia, culminating in an unforgettable New Year's Eve celebration by the sea.
“At midnight, everyone toasts with their feet in the water, accompanied by a procession of Bahian women to the sound of berimbaus and Bahian music. It’s a celebration that moves you,” says Monteiro. According to him, many guests secure their reservation for the following year even before leaving the resort.
The resort space in contemporary hospitality.
Even with the growth of vacation homes and private retreats, Monteiro believes that the resort maintains its place. “The resort offers something timeless: comfort, service, and care. When I'm on vacation, I want to feel welcomed, I want to find my bed made, and my experience complete,” he states.
According to the executive, modern tourism encompasses different formats, but the real difference lies in the experience. "Everyone seeks what makes them happy. In our case, it's about providing moments that will remain in the memory forever," he concludes.
Flávio Monteiro is an executive with over 30 years of experience in tourism and hospitality, former director of Blue Tree and Rio Quente Resorts, currently Director of Marketing and Sales at Transamérica Comandatuba.
Held from November 6th to 9th at Serra Park in Gramado (RS), Festuris focused on the theme "Reimagining Tomorrow".
