Grupo Abra, comprised of Avianca, Gol and a strategic investment in Wamos Air, and SKY Airline announced the submission of documentation to the competition authorities to advance the regulatory approval that would allow the incorporation of the Chilean airline into the group.

The preliminary agreement aims to strengthen air connectivity in Latin America and enhance the group's network of destinations, which currently covers more than 140 routes in 25 countries, with a combined fleet of 300 aircraft and nearly 30,000 employees. The addition of SKY would contribute to expanding travel opportunities and improving the competitive offering for passengers in the region.

During the approval and final documentation process, both companies will maintain operational independence, preserving their internal and external processes, sales channels, and customer service. SKY will retain its brand, culture, and organizational structure, as will the other airlines that are part of Abra.

Adrian Neuhauser, CEO of Grupo Abra, emphasized that the agreement reflects a shared vision: “We want more people in Latin America to be able to fly reliably, with the best network of connections and friendly service.” Holger Paulmann, president of SKY Airline, underscored that the merger “means more routes, more opportunities, and more travel options for passengers, without losing the essence of the company.”

Upon completion of the transaction, SKY will formally become part of the Abra Group, and its current majority shareholders will obtain a stake in the conglomerate, thus consolidating one of the most important airline alliances in the region.
