A year and a half after its launch, LATAM Pass's onboard Wi-Fi service has surpassed 13 million connections among its members, positioning the group as a regional leader in air connectivity. This exclusive benefit, implemented in March 2024, is part of LATAM's strategy to enhance the travel experience and strengthen its loyalty ecosystem.
To access the service, passengers simply need to enroll in the LATAM Pass program—either on the ground or during the flight—which allows them to connect for free and access additional benefits, such as redeeming miles for tickets, products, and discounts at partner stores. Since its launch, more than 500,000 people have registered for the program while on board, and many have already used their miles in flight.
Cristian Ortiz, CEO of LATAM Pass, highlighted the service's importance for customer loyalty: “At LATAM, we constantly work to improve the travel experience and meet our passengers' expectations. Onboard Wi-Fi has been highly valued by our members; in August alone, more than one million people connected during their flights, taking advantage of the high speed to check emails, download files, browse social media, or use WhatsApp.”
With 251 aircraft equipped with Wi-Fi, LATAM currently operates the largest connected fleet in the region. In Chile, over 90% of the short- and medium-haul fleet already has the service; in Brazil and Colombia, connectivity reaches 100%; in Peru, 70%; and in Ecuador, 30%. By the end of 2025, the group's entire Narrow Body fleet will have this feature.
LATAM also announced the expansion of the service to wide-body aircraft, which cover long-haul routes such as Santiago–Sydney, Lima–Madrid, and São Paulo–London. The total investment will be US$60 million, and implementation will begin in 2026. Elite members (Gold and higher tiers) will have full and free access to browsing, social media, and messaging, while other members will have free basic messaging service.
The Wi-Fi service is part of LATAM Play , the group's in-flight entertainment platform, available across its entire fleet. On wide-body aircraft, content is offered on individual screens, while on narrow-body aircraft, it is accessed via personal devices connected to play.latam.com .
With over 300 movies, 1,000 series episodes and 800 music albums, plus content from Disney+, HBO Max and Paramount+, LATAM Play consolidates itself as the most complete in-flight entertainment network in South America, reaffirming the group's leadership in innovation and flight experience.
