United Airlines inaugurated its new nonstop flight between Mexico City (MEX) and Denver (DEN) on October 27, strengthening its North American connectivity network and boosting tourism to ski destinations in the western United States. With this new route, the airline now serves five destinations in Mexico from Denver, more than any other carrier, and connects the Mexican capital with six of its U.S. hubs.
The flight will operate daily and seasonally, from October to March, coinciding with the peak winter season. It will depart Mexico City at 8:05 a.m. and arrive in Denver at 12:00 p.m., while the return flight will depart at 6:00 p.m. and arrive back in Mexico City at 9:30 p.m. (local time). The flights will be operated with a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, equipped with 16 seats in Business Class, 54 in Economy Plus, and 96 in Economy.
The launch was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Mexico City International Airport, with the presence of United Airlines executives and representatives from the Colorado Tourism Office, who highlighted the importance of this connection to strengthen cultural and commercial exchange between both regions.
“United is committed to continuing to add flights to the destinations our customers want to visit. This new service offers Mexican travelers more opportunities to discover the vibrant city of Denver, its natural landscapes, and the ski destinations of Colorado, and gives Americans the chance to enjoy the history, culture, and cuisine of Mexico City,” said Eduardo Velasco, United Airlines’ Sales Manager for Mexico.
For his part, Timothy Wolfe, director of the Colorado Tourism Office, emphasized that “the new direct flight represents an extraordinary opportunity to strengthen ties between Mexico and Colorado. We look forward to welcoming more visitors drawn by the magic of winter, the Michelin-starred local cuisine, and the unique experiences that make each season unforgettable.”
