Brazil continues to solidify its position as one of the world's fastest-growing tourist destinations. Between January and October of this year, the country received 7,686,549 foreign tourists, a 42.2% increase compared to the same period in 2014, when 5,406,409 arrivals were recorded. This figure represents the highest cumulative total of international visitors ever recorded in the first ten months of the year, according to data from Embratur, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism (MTur) and the Federal Police.
In October alone, 587,312 foreign tourists entered the country, representing a 15.4% increase compared to the same month of the previous year and setting a new monthly record.
Embratur President Marcelo Freixo emphasized that this performance allows for projections of a record-breaking year-end.

“The figures suggest that we will close 2025 with more than nine million international visitors, consolidating Brazil as the fastest-growing tourist destination in the world. We are transforming this positive moment into a sustainable trend, generating social development, employment, and opportunities in all regions of the country.”

Argentina, the undisputed leader
. Argentina remains the main source market for tourists to Brazil. In the first ten months of 2025, almost three million Argentine visitors were recorded, representing an 85.46% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This number far exceeds the total arrivals for the entire previous year, when the country received 1.96 million tourists from Argentina.
Other growing markets
. Chile ranks second among the main source markets, with 661,850 arrivals and a 27.68% increase. In third place, the United States registered 614,348 tourists, a 7.34% increase, followed by Uruguay, with 453,633 visitors (+37.2%), and Paraguay, with 421,886 arrivals (+14.2%).
With these results, Brazil is on track to close 2025 with a new all-time record for international tourists, driven by its natural and cultural diversity, the expansion of air connectivity and the strengthening of its global promotion strategies.
